In praise of the F word

I think it has a lot to do with the parent with the way they raise their children. I am next to the oldest in my family my older brother an straight A student ,and all that are under me were straight A students. Then there was me, D- was the grade that I was happy to get. School was not easy for me, but it was not until I wanted to join the Army that I found out why. In school I remember them giving me a hearing test an saying that I had a hearing problem and that I need to see a hearing specialist. Well my father and step mother that there was nothing wrong with me and I was just lazy and did not pay attention in school and that just lead to more beating when ever they had the chance to. I was always called a dumb ass and that I would never a mount to any thing. even my sibling had fun making fun of me. I can still remember the day my step mother yelling at me for the way I made my bed, so my father grabbed the two by two that they used as a paddle and broke it over the top of my head. the school bus was waiting for me so he grabbed my arm and shoved we out the door. By the time I got to school my shirt was covered in blood and no one cared. I got comment like maybe you should try harder. So to day I do my best for me and no one else. I don't talk to my sibling my step mother has past away and my father I could care less about.

So if you are a teacher and you have a student that is having trouble giving he is the easy way out for you. so maybe you should try a little harder to under stand what they are going through.

Ch#34

When I was a young man, I worked for a company that traveled a round the U.S.A. selling books and magazine door to door. And the first of the month we would always go to the low income family housing project. These people were always willing to buy thing for their children to read. in hopes  that their children would learn and have a better life than what they had. With that in mind I would say the projects should be located near schools, shopping centers, and Health care providers for the low income families. Be it houses, duplex's, or apartments it must have some where for the children to have access to learning material. and a place for them to exercise when ever they are not in school, there should be a social service resident to help the family find job and to future their own education.

The Seat Not Taken

After reading this page, I would say that he was the races. When someone defines people by the color of their skin, they open up and show the world that they are races. A lot of people now day are aware of body language and they could see that in him.

I ride the bus ever day, and I have observed some of the rudest people in my life on it. The color of their skin, age, gender, or social status has no bearing on the fact that their just rude. And I would like to add that I have met some of the nicest people there as well.

The only people that I prefer not seating with are the ones that just smoked a cigarette, strong perfume, or cologne. Only because I have COPD and order makes it hard to breath.

I have many friends and they come from an assorted group nationalities. They are my friend I like them for what's on the in side not the outside. a female friend ask me ounces if I still liked her because she was putting on weight. I looked at her and laugh and said that I didn't like her for what she look like on the out side, but that I loved her for what was on the inside. And from that point on she refers to me as her uncle dad.

Excalibur

Excalibur;A1981 movie by John Boorman. Staring Nigel Terry as King Arthur, Nigel Williams as Merlin and Helen Mirren as Morgana. This story take place in the time of the dark ages when man still looking to find the truth about him self, black magic, and the true meaning of the gods that were worshiped at that time.

Arthur was born a king, but no one  knew this except Merlin, because he was payment for a deed that Merlin perform for Arthur's father. Morgana, Arthur's half sister knew something was up , but as a young girl was not sure yet.

When Arthur was but a young man and a squire to what he though to be his older brother. He was able to pull Excalibur from the stone that his father had embedded there at his own death, and was to stay there until his son was old enough to be come a King and rule the land.

Arthur and Merlin were very close friend. There were thing that man could not see, but Merlin could and he was able to guide Arthur in times of trouble. Together they built Camelot the Kings castle and in kingdom  wealth and prosperity were in abundance, Arthur didn't want any of knights to think they were better than any one else and so the knights of the round table was formed.

Where there is good there is always evil, for one can not exist with out the other. Arthur's wife Guinevere and his first knight Lancelot were found to have had an affair that destroyed the kingdom. for very knight know that truth is greatest quality of a man. some would say that courage, compassion, loyalty and Humility were what made him, but with out truth it is all for nothing, as Arthur was to find out. And when this came to pass the land was with out it king and the king was with out his sword.

Arthur's was deceived buy his sister and brought forth a son to him that had more evil than the land could bear, so Arthur and his few brave knights were forced in to battle once again. But only to bring the end of a king and the end of the evil son. It is said that one day a King will come and the sword will rise again and the land will become one. But until that time we must remember the past for it is the doom of man that forgets.

This movie has been my favorite for a long time. I guess even before it came out I have been obsessed with the mid evil times. I looked up my family crest and we were iron workers of the sword, so maybe it just in the blood.

Facebook is making friending obsolete

After reading this article I though it was more of  an add for tweeter than telling people how facebook was making friending obsolete. Most of the facts were correct but majorly outdated. Most of the things Julia  was concerns have been address and are easily fix by going to your profile and selecting your privacies option. There you can chose whom you want to view your pictures or even view your other friend.
I personally don't say thing on there that I would not say to someone face. The old saying that word are left to the interpretation of the reader hold so true in any post be it on facebook, tweeter, or my space. In the high tech world that we live in today if your no plug in to some thing you are considered lost or just old fashion.
Just last week my brother and I were exchange information about our ant and cousin and sure enough wire got crossed by the way he word thing or by the way I interpreted what he had wrote. I am glad that we are mature enough to say we are sorry and that it was just a misunderstanding.
I personally have found some old friend and relative that I would not have ever talk to if it weren't for facebook. For the most part I would say it has been a pleasure finding them, but there are a small percent that were better off left in the past.

My blog of the laws

I remember my grandfather tell us the there was no way smoking causes cancer. It was two years before his death that he changed his mind. and it took COPD for me to change my mind. So in today world maybe we need more defined definition of the effect of the things we put in our body's.
As for new laws selling spray paint to minors would be first on the list of many. Not only is the painting on other peoples property illegal but a real eye sore and very expensive to cover up. I still do not under stand why they do the things they do. And I know that law are not going to stop this but if we make it harder to get maybe we can slow it down. I know that a lot of this is done by gangs, but there a lot do buy people that have no respect for other people property. Woody Hayes said "That he gives no one respect that has not earned it." So if you are young and you think that no one respects you maybe you have not earned it.

The Twin Revolutions of Lincoln and Darwin

I think it is kind of spooky how two men born on the same day and same year end up fighting for the same cause, but in a totally different way.
Lincoln was trying to same the Nation that he so dearly love. And know in his heart that all men were created equality. He knew that slavery had to be abolished for the nation to move in to the future.
Where as Darwin was exposed to slavery the during his time spent in South America. Being a scientist Darwin was able to prove that indeed all men were created equally and that we all should be treated as such.
Even in todays society there are still people that think these two men were wrong in their beliefs that all men are equal. I personally got death threat from my own relative for voting for Barack Obama.
If these two men were alive today. I think they would still be fighting for the equal rights of all man kind, and I would be standing right along side them.

The Man I wish I was

Growing  up in Ohio ever young man want to play football for Woody Hayes at Ohio State, and I was no exception. Ever fall Saturday I would sit in front of the T.V. and watch the game and day dream of one day playing for him.

Woody coached at Ohio State for 28yr. He won five national championships'13 Big Ten Conference title, and a record of 205-61-10.This was truly an amazing task in it self. When one looks at the schedule his team played every year.

Woody was also known for his quotes "Any time you give a man something he doesn't earn you cheapen him. Our kids earn what they get, and that includes respect."  This is by fare the most quoted one of his. My favorite is "I have had smarter people around me all my life, but I haven't run into one yet that can out work me. And if they can't outwork you, then smarts aren't going to do them much good. That's just the way it is, And if you believe that and live by it, you'd be surprised at how much fun you can have."

Woody was a hard worker and he wanted ever one around he to do the same. It was the only way he knew how to win. And that sometime got him in to trouble with the media and NCAA, which eventually cost him his coaching job. But in my opinion if you don't get a few black eyes in life you didn't do anything.

My uncle John went to Ohio State in the sixty and new Woody very well and says that I have the same drive that Woody installed in his players and to me that is the best complement that anyone could give a man. The respect he got was earned and that why I would be Woody any day.

FARM BOY

Growing up on a Dairy Farm in the 70's was not what most kid would call fun. The milking starts at 4 a.m. I know on TV shows they always have the red roster waking ever one up at the crack of dawn, But in real life some one forget to tell the cows. After the milking was done there were so many chores to do we had no time for playing. So when we did thing like bring the cow in for the night milking, with was a 5mile walk we play think Robin Hood was we ran through the wood. when something broke down grandpa would grab the fishing pols and we were off to get dinner. He said it was just as good as working ," were putting food on the table and that what counts" he would say.We though we were rob of our child hood , maybe yes but the thing we learnt are still valuable today.

What I want to write about

The summer of 2007 changed my life forever, for this was the year that I was diagnosed with C.O.P.D.(Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease).I would like to know if they have come up with any new meds that can help people breath better. I have some info that different co. have sent me. with some more research on the internet I am sure that I can come up with the info for a great essay. This is a disease that has no cure the best that they can do is slow down the deterioration of the lungs. I think the more people that are educated on this subject the less they are gong to smoke.

Grandpa's Time/ WR95 1st Paragraph

Writing this was one of the more enjoyable things that I have done for a writing class. It's nice to be able tell people how much fun it is being a grandpa. If I ever find the time I will write a book on the subject. The info I received back from my classmate was very helpful. It was also nice that other people actually enjoyed reading what I wrote. One wrote at she felt like she was sitting back watching the whole thing take place. And that is a compliment that I will cherrish forever.
